M2 Group (Now Vocus Group)

The merger of Dodo Internet with M2 Telecommunications, forming the M2 Group, necessitated a thoughtful redesign of their workspace. The project focused on creating two distinct yet cohesive functional areas: the executive zone and the client services area. Through a nuanced application of colours and materials, the design successfully differentiated the brand and cultural identities of these spaces while maintaining a unified corporate aesthetic.

The Brief

Our challenge was to craft a workspace that reflected the newly formed M2 Group's identity while acknowledging the heritage of its constituent companies. The client requested two main functional areas - an executive zone and a client services area - each with its own distinct character yet part of a cohesive whole. Time and budget constraints added complexity, demanding creative solutions that would deliver a high-quality environment aligned with the new brand identity without exceeding allocated resources.

The Approach

We adopted a strategy of 'subtle distinction' to address the project's unique requirements. By carefully selecting and combining colours and materials, we created visual cues that subtly demarcated the executive and client services areas without resorting to overt separation. This approach allowed us to honour the individual identities of the merged companies while fostering a sense of unity under the M2 Group banner. To meet budgetary and time constraints, we focused on high-impact, cost-effective design elements that could be quickly implemented without compromising on quality or brand alignment.

The Outcome

The redesigned M2 Telecommunications office stands as a testament to thoughtful corporate interior design. The executive area exudes a sense of refined professionalism, while the client services zone projects an atmosphere of approachability and efficiency. Despite their distinct characters, both spaces feel unmistakably part of the same organisation.Through clever use of materials and a carefully curated colour palette, we achieved a high-quality finish that belies the project's budget constraints. The result is a workspace that not only meets the functional needs of the M2 Group but also serves as a physical manifestation of their new corporate identity - unified yet diverse, professional yet approachable.
